How to reach Jaipur

Monuments to visit
- Built with red and pink sandstone, Hawa Mahal or Palace of the Winds has this pyramidal shape and the palace gets its name from always being windy, thanks to the presence of several windows and jharokhas. For the best view of the monument, head up to Wind View Cafe across the road and enjoy chai and pakoras.
- The City Palace is famous for its art and architecture. The palace continues to be the home of the Jaipur royal family with their 500-odd personal servants.
- Built in 1724, Jantar Mantar is considered one of the world's most accurate pre-modern observatories and has the world's largest ever stone sundial. This astronomical observatory was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Jal Mahal, or the water palace, is built in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. The palace appears to be floating and remains an architectural testament to the Rajput’s engineering prowess.
- Located 11 km from Jaipur, the magnificent Amer Fort is filled with palaces, the sheesh mahal, ramparts, cobbled paths, and fascinating Rajputana stories from the past. It overlooks Maota Lake.
- Patrika Gate is a 30-minute drive from Jaipur near the airport. It’s the entryway to Jahawar Circle Park and is one of the most photographed spots in Jaipur. The architecture is considered a reflection of Rajasthani culture.
- Overlooking the city of Jaipur, Nahargarh Fort towers over the city from the edge of Aravalli Hills. It was once part of the city’s three-point defence strategy and now offers visitors breathtaking views of the city.
