BBPS (Bharat Bill Payment System)
Bharat Bill Payments System (BBPS) is a centralized system facilitating all bill collection needs. The interoperable platform allows the customer of one bank to pay bills of a biller acquired by another bank. The platform also has solution which enables banks to extend the service to the customers via non-banking entities as well.
Presently, there are 20 utilities which are enabled on this platform, namely - Electricity, Mobile Postpaid, Landline Postpaid, Gas, DTH, Broadband Postpaid, FASTag, Water, LPG Gas, Life Insurance, Insurance, Municipal Taxes, Loan Repayment, Cable TV, Health Insurance, Credit Card, Education Fees, Subscription, Housing Society and Mobile Prepaid. RBL Bank’s BBPS suite allows any aggregator in the market to connect directly with the BBPS network of India. The product not only enables collection of bills through online Payment Gateway based platforms but also through an extensive network of physical merchants and agents.

BBPS suite will enable any partner to participate as agent institution in the BBPS network, directly over APIs.
There are no integration charges considering the newness of the product.
Below is the on-boarding process:
- Client has to provide consent letter to RBL Bank
- Client to sign an agreement with bank
- Client to use APIs provided by RBL bank
- Client has to get the interface certified by NPCI via RBL Bank
- Client has to sign up agents for transaction processing

Yes, if the individual is acting as an agent to any BC and has a portable technology to perform the transaction.
The agent can charge a convenience fees to the customer. The convenience fee is regulated by NPCI.
